Advantages of Our 11.1V LiPo Battery

VTCBATT provides customized cells, customized battery packs, and customized designs for your 11.1V LiPo battery. C rate up to 50C, capacity up to 40 Ah per cell. You can also determine the inbound structural design, ID design, and shaped battery(round, curved, thin, etc.)

Our 11.1V LiPo batteries use colloidal or solid electrolytes, which greatly reduce the volume and weight of the battery under the same energy storage conditions. At the same time, we abandon the metal outer shell design and use more flexible soft packaging, which can adapt to various lightweight electronic devices.

Our batteries support high-rate discharge, meeting the high power requirements of drone takeoff (for example), rapid acceleration, etc. At the same time, they also have the characteristics of low internal resistance, which can reduce self-consumption of electricity, make the discharge voltage more stable, and avoid equipment out of control caused by sudden power drops.

Designed with an internal PCB battery protection system, our 11.1V LiPo battery can monitor overcharge, overdischarge, overcurrent, short circuit, and temperature, ensuring that the voltage and temperature are within the normal threshold.

No, an 11.1V LiPo battery does not have a memory effect. The battery memory effect refers to the physical changes in the battery structure caused by repeated partial discharge cycles, which lead to a reduction in the actual capacity of the battery.
NiMH and NiCd batteries are more susceptible to the memory effect because some of their internal components tend to clump together when they are not fully discharged, thereby preventing them from achieving a full charge. While an 11.1V LiPo battery doesn’t need to be fully discharged before recharging, it makes the process more convenient.
Although an 11.1V LiPo battery can be used in low-temperature environments, its optimal operating temperature is around 20 ℃. Extreme low-temperature environments will reduce the activity of lithium ions and reduce the discharge capacity of lithium polymer batteries. Moreover, suppose an 11.1V LiPo battery is used in a low-temperature environment for a long time. In that case, the lithium inside the battery will precipitate on the surface of the battery’s negative electrode, causing irreversible, permanent damage to the battery capacity.
- Nominal Voltage: The voltage of an 11.1V LiPo battery at 50% charge is 11.1V, which is why it is called an 11.1V LiPo battery.
- Full Charge Voltage: The maximum charge level of a single lithium battery is 4.2V, so for an 11.1V lithium polymer battery, the maximum safe charging voltage level is 12.6V(4.2V×3 cells).
- Discharge Limit Voltage: Similarly, the minimum discharge voltage of a single lithium polymer battery is 3V. Therefore, the minimum discharge voltage of an 11.1V lithium polymer battery should not be lower than 9V (3.0V×3 cells) to prevent irreversible damage to the battery due to excessively low discharge voltage.
You should prepare a suitable storage environment for your battery.
Firstly, temperature changes have a huge impact on 11.1V LiPo batteries. Too high a temperature will accelerate the aging of the 11.1V LiPo battery, and too low a temperature will reduce its discharge capacity. The ideal storage temperature is between 15-25°C.
Secondly, Humidity will also affect the storage of 11.1V LiPo batteries. Moisture will make the 11.1V LiPo batteries more susceptible to oxidation and corrosion, damaging the 11.1V LiPo batteries’ structure. Please ensure that your storage environment is dry to prevent the battery from being corroded and affecting its normal use.
Thirdly, avoid storing your 11.1V LiPo batteries fully discharged or fully charged. The best way to store 11.1V LiPo batteries is to keep them at a charge level of 50%-60%. At the same time, you can also equip your 11.1V LiPo battery with a charger to automatically charge or discharge the battery to the correct voltage.
Last but not least, keep your 11.1V LiPo batteries away from fire. LiPo batteries are highly flammable. Please always keep your battery away from flammable materials, open flames, and any extreme heat sources.
Experiments show that under the same discharge time and capacity conditions, the 3S LiPo battery has a more efficient output power than the 2S LiPo battery, allowing it to run longer. In addition, the 3S battery is also lighter and more suitable for devices that require lightweight. However, this does not mean that replacing a 2S LiPo battery with a 3S LiPo battery will make your RC car (just an example) run longer and faster. This also depends on the engine speed of your device.
Smaller capacity 11.1 V LiPo batteries tend to be lighter, so they are more suitable for applications such as lightweight racing drones that require short operating time and high operating performance.
High-capacity 11.1V LiPo batteries offer longer battery life. Typical application scenarios include drones that need to perform long-term surveying and mapping work, drones for aerial photography, and similar heavy-duty drones.
- First, use a LiPo-compatible smart charger with balance charging and ensure that the maximum charge level of each battery does not exceed 4.2V.
- Always leave someone unattended while charging.
- For discharging, set a low voltage cutoff or use a low voltage alarm on the ESC to prevent exceeding the minimum voltage, typically 3.0V to 3.3V per cell.
- Always charge and discharge within the C-rate range specified for the battery.
It is not that a larger capacity battery is better, but rather to choose a battery that is suitable for your device. Before buying your battery, you should determine the following settings:
- Voltage Compatibility: Make sure your motor and ESC components can handle 11.1V to avoid excessive voltage damaging the components.
- Current Draw: Make sure your device’s power draw (in amps) is within the 11.1V LiPo battery’s continuous discharge rating.
- Physical Fit and Weight: Consider the physical dimensions and weight of the 11.1V LiPo battery and ensure it fits within the space in your device.
- Connector Type: Check the connector type on the battery (e.g., XT60, T-connector) and ensure it matches the connector on your device or the charging equipment.
C-rating indicates how quickly it can be safely discharged or charged relative to its capacity. The 11.1V LiPo battery has a higher current rating, which allows for a greater maximum continuous discharge current, meaning it can provide more power to connected devices without overheating or damaging the battery. This is especially important for applications that require high power output, such as powering powerful motors in drones or RC cars.
Generally speaking, an 11.1V LiPo battery’s standard service life is at least 500 charge and discharge cycles. Under normal maintenance, our 11.1V LiPo batteries can go through 500-1000 charge and discharge cycles, creating huge value for your business.
