A: Besides a specific charger, you can use the power supply to charge the 18V lithium-ion battery. Set the power supply voltage at 21V max and regulate 0.3C-0.5C current limits.Till the battery pack voltage reaches 21V, stop charging.
But power supply doesn’t have CV charging phase,which can’t fully charge the battery.
It can only be used as an emergency source to charge the battery.

(1}Not charge
When the 18V lithium ion battery pack voltage dropped below 14V,the 18V BMS protection is locked and can’t charge.You just need to charge the 18V batteries to activate the charger.
Most 18V lithium ion batteries are for power tool applications and are provided with metal contact.When the metal contact is damaged,dirty or rusty,it may cause the battery can’t charge.
(2) Deeply discharge
When the battery is in a deep discharge state, the battery can’t be activated by the charger.
You must use the charger with a pre-charge function or zero charge function; even when the battery is 0V,the charger can identify the battery and charge it.
(3)Shorter runtime
The shorter runtime may be caused by cell imbalance, high internal resistance, poor charging, and long-time lay aside, etc. For cell imbalance, you need to use a specific charger with a cell balance function. High internal resistance may be caused by battery aging. Poor charging may result from a short charging time. After a long time lying aside, the battery capacity will degrade, and it is better to do more cycles of full charge and discharge to recover.
(4) Battery Overheat
Don’t use the battery in high-temperature or high-load tools, which will cause the battery overheat.Stop using the battery! Cool the battery immediately!
