The curved lipo batteries use 100% Lithium cobalt as the anode, graphite as the cathode, and nano-ceramic diagram as the separator, which ensures the super performance of the battery. Curved Lipo battery can even maintain a 3.8V higher voltage platform to ensure an excellent discharge curve than a normal lipo battery.

Lipo battery curved has much stricter requirements in safety and reliability than a normal lipo battery. Even it is bent, it should be assembled with a protection circuit(PCB) to maintain ultimate safety to avoid overcharge,overdischarge, overcurrent, and overtemperature.

Installation
Due to the curved shape and bent angles, the curved lipo battery must be mounted precisely; otherwise, it will be damaged and broken easily.
While the flat lipo battery just needs normal operation without much care.
Lead time
Curved lipo battery takes 35-40 days, a longer time than the normal flat lipo battery, because the curved lipo battery takes special care in manufacturing, and the curved lipo battery market demand is very few. While flat lipo battery has very huge demand with plenty of stock, flat lipo battery can support fast delivery within 7-20 days.
Availability
It’s very easy to get the flat lipo battery in the normal market, while the curved lipo battery is only custom-made for specific OEM customers, who manufacture the devices.
Safety Risks
Due to the special curve shape, curved lipo battery is subject to stress and improper mounting, which can lead to lots of safety risks, while flat lipo battery doesn’t have this kind of risk due to the curved shape.
A: The handling of curved lipo battery takes special care; otherwise, the battery will be easily damaged.
- Don’t bend or stress the battery with a clear warning.
- Mount the battery in the correct position.
- Store the battery in a cool environment to avoid high temperature exposure.
- Keep the battery voltage above 3.7V before long-term storage to avoid over-discharge.
- Recharge the battery before 20% SOC to extend the battery lifespan.
A: Identify the suitable size to place the PCB in the curved lipo batteries.
If the size is sufficient or flat, you can use the normal standard flat PCM.
If the size is curved, the flexible printed circuit(FPC) can be precisely designed in the curved size, which is 2-3 times higher cost than na ormal standard PCM.
