Advantages of lead acid forklift battery:

Low cost. It is more cost-effective and can provide a stable power supply, suitable for projects with insufficient budget.

Convenient maintenance. Lead-acid batteries can be directly disassembled from the top for maintenance, reducing maintenance time.

High recyclability. The lead material inside the lead-acid battery can be recycled.

Disadvantages of lead acid forklift battery:

Large volume and heavy weight: The weight and volume of lead-acid batteries are larger than those of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) forklift batteries, which makes it more inconvenient to load and has weaker power supply capacity.

Contained liquid: Lead-acid batteries provide electricity through the chemical reaction of lead plates and sulfuric acid. There are problems of leakage and acid stratification in this process, which not only weakens the power supply capacity but also has risks. And sulfate crystallization is likely to occur in low temperature environments, which will also lead to a decrease in capacity and output capacity.

Advantages of Lifepo4 forklift battery:

Small size and light weight: This feature makes the battery installation process very convenient and can provide continuous and stable power.

No maintenance required: Unlike lead-acid batteries, which require regular maintenance, Lifepo4 forklift battery does not require you to add water to protect the battery.

Long life. This type of forklift battery can be recycled more than 3,000 times, and you do not need to replace the battery frequently.

High safety: The closed structure is adopted, which not only does not have the trouble of acidic liquids but also does not release harmful gases. It is safe and environmentally friendly and protects the environment.

Temperature adaptation: Lifepo4 forklift battery can maintain stable working ability in extreme environments such as high or low temperatures.

BMS system: The battery management system can help you monitor the health status of the battery in real time, and can respond and replace it in time when the battery needs to be replaced.

Disadvantages of Lifepo4 forklift battery:

High cost. The manufacturing materials and structure of lithium iron phosphate forklift batteries make the battery cost higher.

Limited compatible equipment: Lifepo4 forklift battery is not suitable for some old forklift equipment.

For VTC lithium iron phosphate batteries, keep the battery power at about 20% to extend the battery life. If you are using a lead-acid forklift battery, you should start charging when the battery power drops by about 20% to avoid over-discharge of the battery.

You need to ask someone with relevant knowledge to replace it. Lithium iron phosphate forklift batteries are safer, but you also need to understand the relevant static electricity knowledge to avoid potential dangers. Lead-acid forklift batteries contain acidic hazardous liquids, and you need to wear protective tools to replace them.

Lead acid forklift batteries require about 8 hours and a certain cooling time before they can be reused. Our forklift batteries only need half the charging time, and with fast charging, they can save half the time, so they can be put into use directly, allowing your project to complete the work faster.

Our LFP forklift battery has a cycle life of 3,000 times, which can allow you to work normally for ten years. It has a service life four times longer than lead acid forklift batteries and is your best choice for long-term use.

If it is our forklift battery, you can use specific lithium battery charger  directly without any additional operation, but if it is a lead-acid battery, you must turn off the power before charging to ensure that the battery temperature is natural, check that the electrolyte level is normal to avoid gas accumulation, and then charge after checking that everything is correct.

Lead acid batteries need to be regularly watered to keep the electrolytic water level at the right position. Usually, you need to check the level once a week to determine whether water needs to be added. You should pay attention to the fact that the water addition should be completed before and after charging, and it cannot be operated during the charging process, otherwise liquid splashing will occur, causing health hazards.

Our forklift battery uses a closed ABS shell material with a protection level of up to IP65. It has waterproof and dustproof properties and can be used well in humid indoor and outdoor environments. And it has compressive strength and is suitable for long-term use in warehouse manufacturing workshops.

The BMS equipped with our forklift battery can directly monitor the battery power, voltage and temperature in real time, allowing you to see the remaining battery capacity clearly and convenient for you to charge at the best time. If it is a lead-acid forklift battery, the battery capacity can only be determined by voltage estimation, and the accuracy needs to be considered.

Unlike lead-acid forklift batteries, which require regular watering and cleaning of the poles to avoid corrosion and alleviate capacity decay, LFP batteries only need to confirm the good status of the BMS and the status of the charging interface to ensure the stability of the battery.

Lifepo4 forklift batteries need to be equipped with a special intelligent charger to achieve safe and fast charging, while lead-acid batteries use constant current-constant voltage chargers that can switch modes according to the situation. When charging, you need to pay attention to the use of corresponding chargers for forklift batteries of different voltages and capacities, otherwise it will cause safety problems. The charger plug and cable should be cleaned and inspected regularly to avoid aging and damage that affect charging.
