Custom Pet GPS Tracker Battery Manufacturer
A GPS pet tracker with long battery life needs enough usable energy within strict size and weight limits. Frequent location updates and cellular transmissions increase power demand, especially during active tracking.
VTCBATT develops custom LiPo batteries around your tracker's available space, current demand and target runtime. We help select the cell dimensions and capacity, then integrate PCM protection, wiring, connectors and temperature sensing as required for your device.

Battery Design for Different Pet Trackers
Each tracker has different space, weight, and power requirements. We select the cell size and capacity based on your device, runtime, and usage needs.
More comfort starts with a smaller, lighter battery.
We customize compact LiPo batteries for small pet GPS trackers, balancing capacity and weight within the space available in your design.
Longer tracking starts with the right battery capacity.
For small-dog GPS trackers, battery weight matters as much as runtime. We design the battery around your collar housing and tracking requirements.
One collar, more functions, more power demands.
Custom LiPo batteries designed to support GPS tracking, activity monitoring, and alerts while balancing capacity, weight, and the space available inside your collar.
Outdoor use adds enclosure and routing constraints.
We select the LiPo size, lead exit and connector around the tracker housing and your reporting schedule. If the device targets an IP rating, sealing must be validated on the assembled tracker.
Custom Pack Design
Custom Design Around Your Tracker
The available battery space is often limited by the tracker housing, PCB, antenna, and other components.
Share your battery compartment dimensions and 3D drawing with us. We can review the available space, battery orientation, and wire-exit position to determine a suitable battery layout.
For curved or irregular housings, the battery shape and installation position can be evaluated together with the overall enclosure design.
If your tracker targets an IP67 or IP68 rating, share the enclosure and sealing design during battery development. Battery dimensions, wire routing and connector placement must fit within that design. The final IP rating must be verified on the assembled device.
Pet GPS Tracker Battery Life Calculator
Estimate pet tracker battery life from your device's operating modes, or calculate the battery capacity needed for your target runtime.
Active tracking average current should already include GPS and cellular use during that mode. Reporting intervals describe the test condition and are not added again.
Example display values: 4.8 days and 850 mAh. These are illustrations, not verified performance.
This is an engineering estimate. Actual runtime can vary with GPS signal strength, cellular coverage, temperature, device orientation, and tracking frequency.
Battery Testing and Documentation
Discuss the testing and documentation requirements for your target market with our team. We can review the selected battery design against your project's UN38.3 transport testing and IEC 62133-2 requirements, together with any requested UL evaluation.
Available reports and certificates must be confirmed for the exact cell or battery pack. We also agree on sample checks for dimensions, capacity, protection operation, temperature monitoring and charging behavior before production.
Pet GPS Tracker Battery FAQs
Pet GPS tracker battery life depends on battery capacity, report frequency, and the balance between active tracking and power-saving sleep modes. Continuous live tracking and frequent GPS updates draw significantly more energy than periodic pings. Environmental factors like cellular signal strength, GPS line-of-sight, and extreme operating temperatures also directly impact runtime. You can use our runtime calculator for a preliminary estimate, followed by real-device validation under typical usage scenarios.
A rechargeable LiPo pouch battery is a practical choice for compact pet GPS trackers and smart collars. Different sizes and capacities can be evaluated to suit your enclosure and weight limit. Standard 3.7V and high-voltage LiPo options require compatible charging circuits and protection settings. A high-voltage cell is not automatically a direct replacement; its specified charge limit and the device's voltage range must be checked.
A small pet GPS tracker can achieve longer battery life by balancing battery capacity against device size, weight, and power consumption. Because small housings constrain cell volume, extended runtime relies on optimizing low-power firmware (e.g., deep-sleep modes, motion-sensor-triggered reporting) and using high-energy-density cell chemistries. We can review your 3D housing models to recommend a battery that balances usable capacity, weight and fit for your small pet GPS tracker.
Not always. A higher rated capacity (mAh) can extend runtime when voltage and operating conditions are comparable, but it may also increase the cell's physical size and weight. Furthermore, a battery must deliver sufficient peak discharge current during RF transmission bursts without experiencing excessive voltage drops that trigger premature device shutdown. Runtime comparisons should always be benchmarked using identical location-update intervals, network conditions, and end-of-discharge cut-off voltages. For a useful pet GPS tracker battery life comparison, measure normal-use runtime and continuous tracking separately. When comparing batteries with different voltages, compare usable energy in Wh rather than mAh alone.
We can evaluate whether an optimized cell footprint, custom dimensional tooling, or a more compact protection-circuit (PCM) layout can recover unused space inside your housing. Share your internal compartment dimensions or 3D STEP files. Because a complete assembly must account for wire routing, insulation, manufacturing tolerances, and cell swell/expansion over lifecycle aging, any capacity increase is verified against real mechanical constraints.
Yes, when the charging system is matched to the selected battery. Magnetic contacts and docks provide an electrical connection, while the charging circuit controls how the battery is charged. We can review charge voltage, current, temperature monitoring and connector pinout with your team. Where an NTC sensor is used, the charging or control circuit must respond to its temperature readings.
Start with your available battery dimensions, weight limit, voltage requirements, target runtime and estimated order quantity. If available, include average current in each operating mode, peak current and pulse duration, operating temperatures, charge voltage and current, and connector or NTC details. If your design is still in development, send the information you have and tell us which requirements are not yet fixed.
