1. Product overview
The VTC151530 is a rechargeable Li-ion polymer cell engineered for shallow electronic assemblies. It provides 20mAh nominal capacity at 3.7V in a 1.5 x 15 x 30mm maximum pouch weighing approximately 2g. Its 0.074Wh energy supports modest-load devices such as smart cards, Bluetooth tags, sensor patches and compact data loggers.
This model is supplied as a bare 1S1P cell with two flat metal tabs. It does not include PCM, NTC, wires, connector or built-in overcharge, over-discharge, overcurrent or short-circuit protection. The finished device or derived pack must add appropriate charging control, protection, insulation and secure mechanical retention.
2. Core electrical parameters
| Parameter | Specification |
|---|---|
| Model | VTC151530 |
| Battery Type | Ultra-thin Li-ion polymer rechargeable cell |
| Nominal Voltage / Energy | 3.7V / 0.074Wh |
| Nominal Capacity | 20mAh at 0.5C to 2.75V cut-off |
| Charge Limit / Current | 4.2V; 4mA standard; 20mA maximum continuous |
| Discharge Limit / Current | 2.75V cut-off; 4mA standard; 20mA maximum continuous |
| Cell Dimensions / Weight | 1.5 x 15 x 30mm maximum; approximately 2g |
| Operating Temperature | Charge: 0 to 45°C; discharge: -20 to 60°C |
| Cycle Life / Self-Discharge | >300 cycles under stated test conditions; ≤3% per month at 25°C |
| Pack Integration | 1S1P bare cell; no PCM, NTC, wires, connector or built-in protection |
Standard charge and discharge current is 4mA. The maximum continuous charge and discharge current is 20mA. Charger design must observe the 4.2V upper limit and the 2.75V discharge cut-off.
3. Cell size and tab structure
The shallow pouch geometry is the defining feature of this model. Enclosure drawings should use the maximum cell dimensions and provide clearance for the top seal and bare tabs.
| Label | Description | Dimension |
|---|---|---|
| T | Thickness, maximum | 1.5mm |
| W | Width, maximum | 15mm |
| H | Height, maximum | 30mm |

4. Temperature, storage and cycle behavior
Charging is specified from 0 to 45°C and discharging from -20 to 60°C. Recommended storage limits are -20 to 30°C for one year, -20 to 45°C for three months and -20 to 60°C for one month. The cell self-discharge rate is specified at no more than 3% per month at 25°C.
The datasheet summary states more than 300 cycles under 0.5C charge/discharge conditions. The accompanying performance curve extends to 500 cycles, while the product specification lists retention targets of at least 92% after 100 cycles, 88% after 300 cycles and 80% after 500 cycles. Actual life depends on temperature, depth of discharge, charge control and load profile.
5. Protection and mechanical integration
The VTC151530 is not a finished protected battery pack. Product engineers must add a Li-ion CC-CV charger, overcharge and over-discharge control, short-circuit protection and suitable insulation. Bare tabs should be joined with a controlled battery-production process; do not solder directly to the pouch body.
The enclosure must retain the cell without bending, folding, piercing or compressing the laminate. Keep conductive components away from pouch edges and allow for manufacturing tolerance and normal cell expansion.
6. Application fit
The 20mAh capacity, 20mA maximum continuous discharge current and 1.5mm thickness fit low-power products that prioritize shallow industrial design. Final selection should be based on measured average current, pulse load, sleep current, radio duty cycle and the required runtime.
